Upon finishing the NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety, candidates will be equipped to:

  • Grasp the fundamentals of health and safety management.
  • Oversee fire safety procedures in their workplace.

  • Recognise the causes of fires and explosions and understand how to prevent them.
  • Identify and apply fire prevention and protection measures within buildings.

This qualification has a two-step assessment process which consists of the following:​

  • FSC1- An online, open-book examination which candidates have 24 hours to complete.
  • FSC2: A practical fire risk assessment that candidates must carry out in their workplace, utilising frameworks and standards like the Home Office fire guidance and PAS79-1:2020. While there is no official time limit for completing the risk assessment, it is recommended that candidates allocate about three hours to ensure a thorough evaluation.

An external examiner appointed by NEBOSH will mark both assessments. These examiners are chosen for their experience and expertise to ensure that learners are assessed by the very best in our industry.

Are there any entry requirements for NEBOSH Certificates?

  • There are no specific entry requirements, making the NEBOSH Certificate an excellent health and safety training starting point. However, learners should possess a reasonable English standard to understand and communicate the concepts in the syllabus. NEBOSH recommends that learners undertaking this qualification reach a minimum standard of English equivalent to an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.0 or higher on the IELTS Test. What level are NEBOSH qualifications?

  • NEBOSH Certificates are classified as level 3, equivalent to an A Level qualification.

When and how will I receive my NEBOSH results and NEBOSH certificate?

  • NEBOSH provides results after completing the course, typically 10 to 12 weeks after the exams. Your certificates will be sent out once the results are released.

When and how will I receive my results and NEBOSH certificate?

  • NEBOSH sends out the results 10-12 weeks after the exams. Your certificates will arrive from S@WS 10-12 weeks after the results are announced.
